BIOGRAPHY

Ron Dziubla is a freelance musician and composer based in Los Angeles.

Originally from Chesterton, Indiana, Ron moved to Miami after high school to attend the University of Miami. Upon graduation from U.M.'s prestigious School of Music, Ron got busy in the bustling South Florida music scene.

The '90s found Ron touring with international pop star Chayanne, recording and producing CDs for Jammy Award-winning artists like Roach Thompson and Magda Hiller, and touring and recording with South Florida's favorite voodoo band, Iko-Iko. His work with Iko-Iko included two critically acclaimed CDs, "Protected by Voodoo" and "Shine," and a stint as the house band for Jimmy Buffett's musical, "Don't Stop the Carnival."

Iko-Iko's record label, Little Silver Records, served as the home for Ron's first solo release, Melenhead, a solid helping of saxophone driven instrumental rock. Critics all over the world loved the CD (Brian Parrish of KSYM in San Antonio, Texas, called it one of the best instro releases of 1999), and it enjoyed much airplay on stations that play instro rock. (Thank you very much, public radio, including the almighty All Things Considered.)

In May of 2000, Ron made Hollywood, California, his home. Since arriving in the Southland, he has busied himself in many facets of music.

As a saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist, Ron has toured and recorded with artists such as Kid Ramos, Lynwood Slim, Rick Holmstrom, Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics, Eddie Baytos and the Nervis Brothers, Royal Crown Revue, Janiva Magness, James Intveld, the Hollywood Combo, the Blue Rhythm Jazz Orchestra, and many more.

As a session musician, you can hear Ron's saxophone and guitar in the films Thirteen and Contact. He has also written music for film and television, with tracks placed in television shows and national commercial spots. Ron composed the score to director Michael Lazar's indie venture Machine, starring Neal McDonough, and he continues to write music for numerous publishers and music libraries.

Ron re-joined Chayanne in 2004 and 2005 for yet another world tour, including a summer 2005 U.S. stint in which Chayanne will share the bill with Alejandro Fernandez and Marc Anthony for a Latin-pop-star extravaganza.

Professionally, Ron Dziubla continues to keep busy playing the saxophone in all styles but specializing in rock and roots music; playing what can be called rock-and-roll doubles--guitar and keyboards; composing music for film, television, and those who call him up to ask for tracks; and recording his own band, Melenhead, and other artists at his home studio and elsewhere, using his skills as a Pro Tools engineer, producer, and musician.
